8.

It's been a while. Sorry about that, but that's just how life sometimes goes. I'm not even sure what exactly I've been up to, but there are things to tell and more precisely about the awesome experience I had at Jyväskylä Knit Festival.

I travelled to Jyväskylä on really cold Thursday, by a coach, and just spent the rest of the remaining evening just wondering around Jyväskylä and eating dinner alone. After I arrived to Jyväskylä, I was so glad I brought my wool shawl with me as it was really surprisingly cold. I was still wearing it and another scarf as I got in to my hotel room.

It was the tiniest room ever, but quite alright considered hotel's central location and room's cheap price. Also the room number was the perfect one for a Sherlock fan. After checking in my room I had the evening to spent at Jyväskylä. I went to have dinner alone and trying not to feel so awkward and then I did little shopping and wondered around the city.

While I wondered around the city I went to see where Toivolan Vanha Piha actually is so that I would find it easily on next morning as I had never been there. Yep, finding it was pretty easy. On the way there I actually saw Veera Välimäki and that "knitwear designer from Argentina" as I call her in my mind (I'm really bad with names) walking on the streets. That's when I knew it was going to be awesome experience. Yes, I smiled to them and probably seemed really odd person, kept on walking and like a proper fangirl messaged excitedly to my mum "Guess who I just saw!", of course she had no idea who I was talking about. :D

I walked past Toivolan Vanha Piha and saw some knitters still at Kahvila Muisto knitting and chatting. It looked so much fun, but as I'm a shy person and the knitting event had already began two hours earlier, I didn't dare to go in. Everything just made me more excited about that next day.
Rest of the evening I just spent wondering around city centre and having a nice warming mint hot chocolate. I think it actually was the best hot chocolate I've ever had and it was perfect for the weather.

In the morning I had breakfast and got ready to check out off the hotel. The staff there was the loveliest ever and I would stay there another time gladly.
I thought the morning was going to be a little like the previous day and I dressed so that I wouldn't get cold and ended up dragging my shawl and jacket around the town the whole day. It was so super warm.
I headed over to Jyväskylä City Hall where Veera Välimäki's class Shawls and shapes was taking place. I met some lovely knitters there and chatted to with really nice knitter from near Brighton.
I should talk so much about the class and it was wonderful and inspiring, but I didn't really learn anything new. I didn't really expected to, but it was still such a lovely class and really just seeing and hearing Veera talk was a fangirl moment for me. Yes, I was perfectly happy to pay 75€ for that experience. I had a good time.
After the class I had lunch with two awesome classmates who I'm grateful I didn't have to feel awkward and eat alone. Hope I didn't bother you too much!

Then it was time for the festival's marked place. I tried to take picture with a little less people showing that there actually was.

I have never in my life seen so much lovely yarn. They were all so soft and beautiful. I could have brought so much yarn home. Luckily or not, I had set a budget for myself. I could have spent the whole day just looking at yarns, but this is what I actually bought.

I left Jyväskylä tired and happy and wishing I could be back nect year and spent to whole festival there and take part to several classes instead of just one. It was such a good experience that I'm still smiling while writing this or just when I think about all the yarn I saw and bought. Why isn't it next summer already?

Now I'm just loving all the yarn I bought. What should I knit with them?
